
Dr. Natalie van Veelen successfully completed her
4-year medical degree at the Boucher Institute of
Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, British
Columbia. During her two years of clinical
experience at the Boucher Clinic Dr. van Veelen's interest
in chronic disease and terminal illness inspired her to
complete a one-year clinical externship at Vancouver’s
Friends for Life Society, a non-profit organization that
supports individuals living with life threatening illness.
Her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition obtained from
UBC compliments Dr. van Veelen's lifelong interests in
nutrition and health. In her practice, as in life, she
values communication and listening as salient tools used
to gain a balanced evaluation of her patient’s physical
and emotional states.
Drawing from Naturopathic modalities, Dr. van Veelen
integrates clinical nutrition; botanical medicine;
acupuncture; physical therapies; homeopathy; and
nutritional and lifestyle counseling into her care. Dr.
van Veelen also has additional training in intravenous
therapy, neural therapy, trigger point injections,
biotherapeutic drainage, and chelation therapy.

Women’s Health – hormone imbalance, PMS,
menopausal symptoms, painful periods, infertility, chronic
yeast infections, urinary tract infections, PCOS,
osteoprosis, arthritis.
Digestive Complaints – IBS, GERD, gas and

heartburn, nutrient malabsorption (anemia, fatigue,
indigestion), peptic ulcers, constipation, celiac’s

Hormone issues – hyper/hypothyroid, adrenal
fatigue (cortisol imbalance), hyper/hypoglycemia (insulin

insomnia, stress, mood disorders.
Weight management – weight loss or gain, low
energy/endurance.
In line with the deeply rooted philosophies of
naturopathic medicine, Dr. van Veelen’s approach to
patient care is focused on the mind-body-health trinity
and the importance of treating the whole person. This
philosophy is exercised through individually designed
treatment protocols, which reflects the unique
characteristics of her patients.
Full lab services are available, including yearly physical
exams, Pap smears, food allergy testing, digestive and
stool analysis, urinalysis, and heavy metal testing.
Dr. van Veelen is in good standing with the British
Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA), the Canadian
Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and licensed by
the CNPBC.
