Dr. Lisa Polinsky obtained her naturopathic
medical degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland,
Oregon. She completed a postgraduate residency in family practice and
established a primary care practice for three years in Oregon before returning
to Vancouver, B.C. and joining Sage Clinic.
Her undergraduate training in Psychology and Sociology facilitated her
prior career in Human Resources and her exposure to corporate culture.
Having practiced now for over 5 years, she holds a true passion for
naturopathic medicine and the possibilities it presents for health care and
health optimization.
Dr. Polinsky embraces herbal medicine,
homeopathy, biotherapeutic
drainage (a European based form of homeopathy), clinical nutrition, EAV
food sensitivity evaluations and two forms of bodywork – Bowen
and microcurrent in her medical
practice. While she enjoys all aspects of family healthcare, she holds a special
interest for women’s health issues including menopause, perimenopause, P.M.S.,
infertility, and perinatal care.
Additional areas of expertise include
endocrine imbalances (adrenal, thyroid, pituitary issues), nervous system issues
(depression, insomnia, mood disorders, anxiety, stress), digestive imbalances
(IBS, Crohn’s, leaky gut/malabsorption, anemia, food sensitivities) and
autoimmune conditions (RA, thyroiditis, MS, fibromyalgia).
She sees her role as coach and guide in helping others achieve a higher
state of health. Committed to her own personal evolution as a doctor she
regularly attends seminars and workshops to further her areas of study and
expertise.
Dr. Polinsky believes that health is achieved
through balance of the physical realm of the body combined with emotional and
spiritual health. Her personal
philosophy connects to the works of Eckhardt Tolle The Power of Now, Gary
Zukav The Seat of The Soul, Miguel Ruiz The Four Agreements and
the film What The Bleep Do We Know? (www.whatthebleep.com)
Embracing the naturopathic principle of
“doctor as teacher”, Dr. Polinsky is available for talks and classes on
preventative health topics. She has
appeared on CTV with Dr. Rhonda Low and CFUN Canadian Healthstyle Radio and
written numerous articles on healthcare topics. She has presented wellness seminars at several Portland,
Oregon and Vancouver, BC businesses and educational institutions.
Dr. Polinsky balances her career with yoga,
meditation and connecting with nature at every opportunity.
She and her husband Dan have recently welcomed baby Ava into their lives and are
enjoying their new roles as parents.
Available
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for consultations, Dr. Polinsky is currently
accepting new patients.
