“The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry” – adapted from Robert Burns
It happens to so many of us – the new year is begun with good intentions, clear resolutions, a focus on what needs to change in our life to improve the flow of good energy…and then that comfortable groove that was carved out during the last few years catches us again and becomes a rut, or one small set-back on our path to glory derails the whole shebang.
Realistic goals are a good start but if you are concerned that you may fall short of them along the way know that there is help in maintaining momentum towards change in the form of Bach Flower Remedies. These essences are gentle supports for shifting emotional states, and I have had some amazing success stories using them in my practice.
There are 38 remedies that can be mixed and matched to create a personalized formula to help address your current state of being. Some patients need new formulas every few weeks/months in response to shifts happening in their inner or outer lives, while others who may be addressing deeper, long-standing issues may stay on the same formula for several months.
Some key remedies to support stick-to-it-iveness with New Year’s Resolutions include:
Gentian – to help those who are easily discouraged, or who tend to give up on a goal at the first setback.
Larch – for a lack of confidence, or an expectation of failure.
Wild Oat – for times when the correct path forward in life is unclear.
Wild Rose – for lack of motivation, loss of ambition, or feeling resigned to an undesirable situation.
It is possible to put together a formula for your self, but an external viewpoint to objectively prioritize obstacles in your path is tremendously helpful.
Good luck on your journey, and may 2018 be filled with love, laughter, and abundance!
